Summer, Summer, Summertime!

Summer is flying by so quickly!  As much as I am trying to stay in the moment, I can't help but to think of all the things that I need to do before school starts.  But first thing first, I have one more training to attend and then, I need to head to my classroom to reorganize and set up some new decor that I bought for my new reading corner.  Did I mention how very excited I am for the latter?!!!! All I have to say about that is that I love IKEA, and I'm SUPER excited to decorate my new reading corner.

Before my reading corner, I had a reading hut which was made of wooden posts and decorated to fit my tropical-themed classroom decor.  After six years, the decorations on the hut slowly fell apart, and it was time to retire the poor thing.  When I have new reading corner done, I will definitely post the pictures to share with you.

Do you have a reading corner in your classroom?  What does it look like?  Please share your pictures.  I would love to get some ideas!

Thank you for coming by.  Below is my Summertime Freebie that has been downloaded 1.6k+ times!!! Yes, 1.6k+ times!!! I'm so thrilled that so many teachers have downloaded it and found it useful.  Feel free to click to the image below to download it for free.  I would also appreciate your feedback!

This Summer Fun Freebie is also part of my summer math and literacy packets.  The packets are perfect for incoming 1st and 2nd graders and best used for extra summer review and back-to-school practice.  The links are below.

My Summer So Far & All About Me

It feels like the last day of school was just yesterday, but the new school year is really only a month away!!! Summer is going by so quickly, I just can't believe it!  If you have been following me on Facebook, you might have seen that I recently visited Michigan, Illinois, and then California.  In Michigan, I visited my in-laws, and we celebrated 4th of July together.  We also went strawberry and cherry picking.  It was so much fun and so neat for our lil' man to experience it.  From Michigan, we did a road trip to Chicago where we stopped by Willis Tower for the SkyDeck, walked around the beautiful Millennium Park, and had lunch in Chinatown. In California, I visited some of my siblings, and we did some sightseeing and ate at Japantown in San Francisco.  My husband and I also took our baby to Santa Cruz, walked the boardwalk, and got to see some friendly sea lions. I have a few more trips to make until the end of  August, and I will update you some more.

As for now, I'm beginning to think about next school year and doing some small prepping here and there when I have some free time.  Here's something that I just completed for my Back-to-School packet.  In years past, I typed up a letter to introduce myself to parents, but I love this idea....And it's way cuter!!!

Thank you, Whitney from At Whit's End for sharing this.  If you would like to make your own with this or other templates, click on the link above.
