July Currently

OH MY GOODNESS, IT'S JULY ALREADY!!!  Yes, I cannot believe it!  I feel like it was just last week that school ended and I was getting my End-of-the-Year checklist turned in.  On the bright side, it's JULY and summer is still in full swing with so much excitement ahead!!!

Today I'm linking up with Mrs. Farley from Oh Boy, It's Fourth Grade to bring to you my July Currently.

Listening:  It's late and baby boy is sound asleep with daddy.  That's exactly what I want to hear right now so I can just take a moment to myself for myself.....well, it's also because I'm battling acid reflux and all the last full month of pregnancy symptoms.  I was so happy telling my hubby the other week how acid reflux has been so bad for me this time around, but I think I spoke too soon... way way too soon. lol..

Loving:  While I love the summer so that we can enjoy ice cream and swimming as a family, the heat is really getting to me...especially on those 95+ degree days here in Texas.  So when the sudden rain shower came this evening, I was super excited since I know tonight won't feel as hot...but I'm sure the humidity will get me tomorrow... Oh boy...

Thinking: I got 4th of July plans on my mind at the moment... Not sure of our plans since it depends on my growing belly.  I would love to take a trip to see my family and the dr. said I'm fine as long as I take frequent stops.... so if we do go... I need to start packing ASAP.  To go or not to go???? hmmm...

Wanting: To meet our sweet baby girl already!  I have been so very blessed to have had such a healthy pregnancy so far...but it's been 34 very longgggg weeks for this lil' mama, and I can't wait to meet our daughter!  And as any third-trimester mommy would do, I have been nesting like crazy.  Cleaning, organizing, reorganizing, and going in and out of her nursery a million times everyday.  I know that we have everything we need thanks to our wonderful family and friends, and everything will be just fine...but I. JUST. CAN'T WAIT. :)

Below are pictures of her nursery.  If history repeats itself, we might see her at the end of this month as our son was delivered at 38 weeks.

Needing:  A lot of SLEEP!  If it's not baby girl tossing, turning, and pushing on my bladder all night, then it's acid reflux and insomnia taking turns.  Funny how I used to crash so easily and now I can't seem to get any rest.

All Star:  It's funny how my friends seem to feel very comfortable sharing with me their feelings.  Sometimes it surprises even me when some of my friends tell me certain things that they wouldn't share even with their closest friends.  I think they know that I'm very open-minded and am willing to listen to their perspective.  I'm definitely glad that they feel that way, because understanding from others' perspectives and building up each other is what life is all about!

Well...thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a great July and will definitely keep you updated on our baby #2! :)

Monday Made It!

I'm a day late posting, but I hope I'm not a too late... :)

Today, I'm linking up with 4th Grade Frolics!  I made it yesterday, but forgot to link up... So here it is..... my first Monday Made It!!!

So my baby shower was earlier this month and since I had a lot of tulle left over from my cake table, I decided I was going to be resourceful and turn all the tulle into super easy pink and white tutu skirts of varying sizes for my soon-to-be-daughter.   After all, it was more than 5 yards of really good tulle! Using the same concept that I made the table skirt with, I was able to make 5 tutus.

Here's how I made them!

Measure and cut the elastic band to fit the waist.

Tie or sew it together.  If you tie it, you can still hide it under the tulle later on.

Cut the tulle to size depending on how long you want it skirt to be.  Whatever the length is, double it, then cut since you have to fold it in half.

Fold the tulle in half and hold the tulle behind the band.

Loop the bottom part of the tulle through the hole on top of the tulle.

Pull the tulle through and repeat!

Thank you for stopping by!  Hope you have a wonderful week!

Summer Updates, Maternity Photoshoot, Babyshowers, & the TPT Seller Challenge, OH MY!!!

So many wonderful things have happened lately that I can't wait to share with you!

School's Out!
Our last school day was Friday, June 5th and my sweet first graders surprised me with the cutest gifts for my baby and me!  It was a total shock and surprise as I was not expecting anything at all, especially on the last day of school. Needlessly to say they made me tear up as I read their cards and opened up the presents.

It was also quite bittersweet to clean up our classroom as we headed into summer.  The kids were so helpful and wanted to stack all the chairs and helped me stack the desks. It was definitely sad to see how lively our classroom was in August and bare it was to prepare for the cleaning crew to come through.  However, I'm so proud of my firsties and can't wait to see all the wonderful things that they will do next year down the hallway!

In the Meantime....

I have been enjoying the last couple months of my pregnancy and spending time with my family.  I can't tell you how much I love summer, and being able to take family vacations to just relax and unwind.

Here are some snapshots of our trip to Florida.  It was so wonderful to reunite with family as well as relax on the beach where we spent most of our days.  Our lil' man had the best time splish-splashing, feeding live alligators, and playing with his cousins! And....I can't say enough how blessed and lucky my husband and I feel to have such an easy traveling baby. Sure hope our new bundle of joy is the same! :)

Our Maternity Photos
Speaking of our new bundle of joy, we had our family maternity photoshoot completed by Kristan Johnson Photography.  Just as the rain subsided in Texas, we met and got the pictures done in a speedy hour.  I'm so impressed and overjoyed with the results!  Thank you, Kristan for capturing such a wonderful moment for our family!  If you are in the DFW area, I would highly recommend Kristan!

My Baby Showers

My sweet first grade team threw a wonderful shower before the end of the year, and I couldn't have felt more blessed to work with such an amazing group of girls.  My awesome faculty and staff also showered  our lil' Lily and me with the kindest wishes and gifts.  I can't wait to introduce her to my work family!

Baby Shower #2 was hosted at our house this past weekend.  Besides it being an explosion of pink and pretty bright colors, it was filled with so much love and laughter from our friends and family.

I am participating in the TPT Seller Challenge with my fellow TPT-ers on Instagram!  It is a 4-week challenge to help improve my stats and build my lil' store.  This week, I madeover a few covers of one of my FREEBIES and two products.  Thank you Teach, Create, Motivate, Sparkling in Second, Peppy Zesty Teacherista, & Third in Hollywood for hosting this challenge!
